In reality, so much more happens in that transition too: resisting distraction, accommodating interruptions, releasing tension, re-focusing, and deciding between a few bites of lunch or a bathroom break.
Nesso is designed to accommodate the real world where you practice.
We realized we have a unique vision for this experience. A calmer, more focused way to move between back-to-back sessions. So we're choosing to get valuable portions of this experience into your hands sooner rather than waiting for the full EHR.

Notes aren't just a typing problem
As a therapist who's written thousands of session notes, you know something tech people don't: speed is only part of it.
There's a whole layer of clinical judgment that happens every time: What medical necessity language to use? How do I document this couples session knowing one partner might subpoena the records? Am I audit-ready if someone pulls this chart next year?
These are judgment calls that require your expertise and experience. We designed Nesso Notes to support those decisions in real time — putting the right options in front of you at the right moment. Things like a toggle to include clear, concise medical necessity language, or structured choices and checkboxes that help you document with confidence instead of second-guessing yourself later.
What makes Nesso Notes different
- We believe you should no longer have to choose between speed, clinical judgment, or audit-readiness. We've designed for all three.
- We also believe AI is not a requirement in order to write fast notes.
Therapists in early testing are closing out audit-ready session notes in 3 minutes or less — with or without AI.
If you want AI assistance, it's there. If you'd rather maintain full manual control, the tool is still fast — because it's not the typing that slows you down, it's the blank page. We designed the note experience to guide you through those decisions if you like, not just generate text and hope it sounds right.
